Are there things I can use to cover my braces for aesthetic reasons?

Question:
I just got braces on (for the second time, due to stopping wearing my retainer when I was still a kid) now I am 22 and its bothering me the way my braces look as they are silver and really kind of shiny. I'm wondering if anyone knows of things that could be used to put over the braces (when I'm not eating) so that they aren't as obvious, I've thought of using some sort of white tape, I'm wondering if anyone else has tried anything like this.. maybe teflon tape, but I'm not sure if it would stay on or fall off.

Answers:
The problem with a tape is that there will still be the shape of the braces poking up underneath of it. Also, with a tape, food and germs get stuck under it and multiply on your teethe, making it much easier for you to get cavities even if you do brush. If you didn't want the braces to show during the day, I would have suggested some sort of headgear - which you only have to wear while you sleep - but of course it sounds like it's too late for that now. I don't really know of anything that would work to cover them, just try keeping your mouth closed as often as you can, and don't worry about it. Many adults still have to face the troubles of braces.
you should get invisalign but you can ask your ortho for wax.
dont try to hide them. next time you go in, have them put your fave color with them. you have to wear them, might as well make it fun!
you will be so happy with your new smile it will be worth it! just hang in there.
