They're EVIL! don't trust them! Bite, scratch, whatever! But never ever trust a dentist, or an orthodontist! I heard from a very reliable source that they do evil things! And stuff! Anywho, I just don't trust them.
they remove the wire and put in another one that has different strength. get gum to chew afterwords so your mouth isn't so sore.

They get out a big screwdriver, a monkey wrench, and they dig in. The results are immediate. No, not really.
i have braces.. it started april last year and still have it on until now.. dentist do adjustment on your braces once a month depending on the case of your teeth. they change the rubber and the wires.. i dont actually know if they really tighten it... you will see improvements after a month but you cant eat for days if you just started.. they will use wires depends on what to improve to your teeth same as the rubber..
All they do to tighten your braces is they cut off the wire on your braces. Then they rewire your braces with new metal. That makes it tighter again. They do they every few weeks/months until your teeth are completely straight.
I just had this done like a month ago..u go in and they check and see for improvement and tell u if ur hygeine is good.then they take the old wire out and put a new one in I think that is what tightens it the new wire is a different size. I don't think they ever actully took a tool and tightened them. it's all about the wire. so yea anyway it depends on your mouth but I saw results in the first 2 months .not major results just a lil bit of movement and it's already been 4 months for me and I see alot of improvement. You may not notice because u see your teeth everyday but ask others if they notice. Braces suck at first but then u don't even feel em.
