Does deep cleaning hurt with no numbing?

It really depends on your pain tolerance level. I only have about 5 patients that refused to have anesthesia for any deep cleaning session. As for me, I would have like to be numbed for just regular cleaning. Try it out without the shot, if you can't handle it, just ask the dentist to numb you up.
i thing it will only sting not hurt 24/7
Hey well actually I just got a deep cleaning today but on only one of my molars because we ran out of time. They numbed both of my top molars, it started out ok but I guess my right side wasn't numbed enough and when she started cleaning on that side it was quite painful. I think they want to numb it for a reason, even with my left top molar numbed I still felt some pain, so I can imagine how it would be without it being numbed. Then again, if you can take pain then I guess you can go ahead and do it without numbing.
Yes it does, but not to the point that a grown up wont be able to take it.
