Can my mam have her tooth romoved while sitting up?
Question:
she is in a lot of pain and needs a tooth removed is there any other way other than lying back to due this procuedere.
Answers:
Most likely yes, some patients cannot recline due to problems with dizziness or back problems. The dentist will likely stand for the procedure.
Good luck to her!

in my opinion it would be easier to recline.
if she's in pain then her other alternative would be to numb it and sit up while they pull it.
Depends on the dentist...some can do it while she sits up and if she is very nervous she should get Nitrous oxide while she is there to help her relax
They find it generally easier to have a patient lying back when they do an extraction and due to the bleeding that follows directly afterwards it makes sense for them not to be upright. But I used to be a dental nurse and have seen an extraction done with the patient standing up before - she was so nervous she wouldn't even get in the chair. Like I say, it would be best if your Mum was reclined, even if it was just a bit, but get her to speak to her dentist about whatever she is nervous about and he/she will help her as much as they can.
i had a wisdom tooth removed the other year. the dentist removed after giving me an injection while i was sitting up in the dentist chair as it was easier for him.
one thing i would suggest is she tell her dentist she is nervous as this allow him to reassure her.
i know for a fact that this will happen, because i was nervous when i went back to the dentist for a root canal filling and said i was nervous, i was made to feel i was in control of everything, result now i am fine at the dentist
