First off.. make appointment with dentist..

try orajel.. from pharmacy...
or place a whole clove spice on tooth.. (old remedy)

use sensidine toothpaste and avoid too hot.. and too cold
liquids.
THe obvious answer is: Go to the dentist!

But if that isn't feasible, get your hands on some antibiotics and take a little antibiotic & advil cocktail. (don't od, just one antibiotic and two advil). Get yourself some ambisal (sp?) and slather it over the area that hurts.

I feel for you! Toothaches are the worst!
someone once told me to bite down a hold an asprin where ever the pain was and that it would stop it from hurting - they also said to make a paste with that "goody's powder" and place that their as well -- the taste made me gag -- but if you can stand it , it just might help you
go to a dentist
Make an appointment with the dentist. Rinsing your mouth with saltwater works too!
appointment with the dentist first, then any painkiller with lots of codiene
Well, just a regular pain reliever like Aleve will only dull the pain- first you have to find out if it's nerve or decay--can you see any black spots? if so, seriously don't laugh- get either ambesol which is a baby's gel for their teeth-- or do it the old wive's tale way--swig whiskey or anyother strong liquor in your mouth and it will numb it..

If it's the nerve--you need to go to the dentist immediately--that pain will only increase and will be the equivalent of giving birth--seriously -- it is relentless and if it's an upper tooth, you will have pain in your sinuses, in your ear, depending on where the tooth is located, even your eye--and a heck of a headache..get to the dentist.....sorry.... I've had 4 root canals and there's nothing more painful than the pain before they take the nerve out....
Only thing that helped me was Ibuprofen & two STRONG antibiotics for 10 days and a root canal afterwards. Don't put off going to the dentist. Believe me, the pain you are feeling right now will only get WORSE if you don't seek treatment. Worried about pain while at the dentist? It will never be near as worse as what you feel right know. Personally, I looked forward to the meds and novocaine shot so they could ease the pain. I don't wish you sleepless nights, so go to a dentist. Good luck and you'll be ok!!
Salt water has absolutely no affect on your tooth. The pain is from the nerve, and obviously salt water cannot get to the nerve. If it's minor pain, yes, I suggest orajel. Orajel is a topical that is applied to the gums, which is able to numb the area. If it's extremely painful, you need to contact your DDS because there could be a problem with the nerves, or you might have a bad carry which needs to be corrected. Try not to eat on that side until your appointment.
TOOTHACHES or shall we say strange PAIN on one of your teeth or the gum-line is usually the starting point of severe or worst dental problems. Aside from giving you sleepless nights of painful miseries and difficult chewing, it could actually threaten your health and worst could kill you.
