My 8 year old son's front tooth. is growing in.?

Question:
sideways, it is only he-is 3rd 'adult tooth and is completely sideways. he did get a bad knock to the face last year wihich cut right through his lip, could this have caused the tooth to come in abnormally? will he need braces or could it resolve itself!

Answers:
Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 years and have seen this a few times. This will not resolve on its own and you can even have an Orthodontist check this out to give you a treatment plan in the future. What can be done since his jaw is still growing and the teeth move pretty easily is put a bracket on it now and turn it back. If you wait until he is older, this takes more time and hurts even more.
Ideally you need a hands on expert and not a forum here to make guesses and you pick. The whole point is the tooth is rotated and needs to be put back. If you wait the teeth next to it could crowd and them you have another problem altogether. Call for an appointment now and get a a real treatment plan and an exact diagnosis. In my office we put the child in a single bracket attached to two other teeth and gently rotate it back in place. This needs a real hands on professional dentist to get the right results and long term great results. Please don't cut corners. Do it now. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Marie.
Happen to my brother, first of all ask a doctor, and make sure the mouth is not swollen or anything braces will deffinitly help get it straighter though. My bro got braces
Dentist.
My daughter is 8 also, and 3 years ago she ell and her tooth came through her lip, now her second teeth have come through, her tooth that she damaged is a bit twisted but the dentist said she will be fine,
She want's a brace so she can be like her sister !!

;-)
This early, you son could probably benefit from a 'night brace' that you would need to consult a dentist over. Being such a small age, his teeth are still more malleable than an adult/teens and he will not require a brace for long. Having the tooth removed, then reinserted is also an option. But the problem will probably not resolve itself, consult your dentist for further information.
Will need the dentist - won't right itself. I had one like this as a child. A brace fixed it.
