Question:
for the last year or so i've been having problems with my mouth, and i believe it could be TMJ..i've never told the dentist about this because it's not too bothersome, but i just want to know whats going on...sometimes when i wake up and eat my mouth pops and cracks while i'm chewing..its usually only in the morning, but sometimes it lasts through the afternoon. everyday all day if i open my mouth and close it i can feel my jaw kinda shift or something. i have braces right now, i think this has only been going on since ive had them. before i got the braces my bite was messed up, when i closed my mouth all the way my bottom teeth went over my top & now its the other way around. i dont bite my nails, havent for the last year, but i used to constantly. everyday i bite the inside of my mouth and lips.. is it possible that i grind my teeth at night w/o me knowing i do it? what could be the problem?

Any time you change the bite around you open up the possibility of jaw problems. Even if its for the smallest filling, it may change the bite a bit. I would inform the orthodontist, He may be able to change the way you wear rubber bands to help with the problem. Don't wait until you are out of braces to do this, you may have to go back into them. You are brining this up at the best time.
Tell your orthodontist, it may make a difference in your treatment. Better to fix it now then wait until later when you might have to wear braces all over again. That is what happened to me, I wore braces when I was 11 and then I had to do it all over again when I was 45. Believe me, it is a LOT bigger pain when you are older.
well TMJ does not just stay in your mouth it causes major head aches, and your neck might even get sore. It helps to take pills for it.
