Yeah it hurts, but depending on your tolerance of pain only for 1-2 weeks. The first time is always the worst. Getting your braces tightened will never hurt as bad as the first time you get them on. The pain is like, if you can remember, having to eat tough food with a loose tooth, only it's all of your teeth. But it won't hurt as much the first day as the next.
Why do people take the time to type in upper and lower case letters for each word? It's stupid.
No it does not hurt, its a bit uncomfortable...no more than that.
hey its fine i have braces now.. there fine and there not painful regularly just a day or two after you go to the orthodontist to get ur wires tightened
when u theyre putting the braces it duznt hurt at all so dont worry bout that but the only thing that is bad about it is tht the next day ur teeth are gonna feel sore so its gonna hurt when u bite for like 3 days then its gonna be normal again.
I had braces for 2.5 years when I was younger. As far as if it will hurt or not that totally depends on what is being done for correction and how your orthodonists goes about it. When I first got them on it didn't hurt at all for the first day. So I ate things that were allowed and went through my day like normal. Then the next day my teeth hurt like crazy. I guess I should have just eaten soft foods the first day. After that my lips were raw because the braces rubbed alot so I kept wax on them until I got used to them, that REALLY helped. After that they felt pretty good only getting sore when I had wire changes or had to use rubber bands.
FYI: EVERYONE has different experiences. It will be ok though. It's exciting for you! Good Luck and enjoy your pretty smile when you are done! P.S. Be smart and wear your retatainer like they tell you, I wish I had!
The process of putting on the braces doesn't hurt, although the glue they use, taste horrible, so try and keep your tongue in one spot! The day after your braces are on, it hurts, alot. But isn't that what asprin is for? lol. You will have to eat soft foods, like soup, noddles and bread just becuase your mouth will feel very tender. After a few days though, you won't feel a thing. And, soon enough it won't even hurt to get them tightened because you will be used to it. they really aren't as bad as they seem! And get some cool colors!
When they put the braces on, it doesn't hurt at all. Once you get home though, it hurts because your teeth are getting used to the pressure being applied, so I suggest that you don't eat anything hard that you have to chew. Stick with soups for the first days, thats what I did.
