Where can i find real cheap dental work or even free work?

Do you really want CHEAP work done? In general, you get what you pay for, and your mouth is yours for as long as you live...and eat. I know it's expensive, but, well, it's scary having cheap or free...would you ask for cheap or free brain surgery?
But, to answer your question, your local dental school. Like NYU Dental is about 1/3 usual cost. U of Penn is also cheap. Most schools are looking for practice patients, like hair salons...and sometime you get green hair rather then blonde...if you know what I mean.
check out your local university that offers a dental program. I know where I went offered reduced-price dental work through their clinic. They have specific hours and don't do everything there, but it is safe as everything they do is watched over by their dental professors. Good luck!
A dental school has a clinic inside of it and the students who will be graduating within the year practice on patients while the teacher supervises.
Check with local University that has dental school program. They may not be as cheap as before. Since I graduate from USC I heard from my sister they raised the fee for all treatment and became less attractive for local and low income people to go. You will be also be spending a lot of time getting just one filling done(at school I only treated 2 patients a day and I can see up to 15-30 patients a day right now). Also look up local free clinic there may be a free clinic around if you qualified. But one patient from my office went to a low fee/free clinic in our area and came back with wrong tooth filled(we even gave her our x-ray!), I hope this is only isolated case.
Hi Dv
If the cost of treatment is a major concern, then i would suggest you explore the option of travelling to another country for your dentalwork.
Whilst it isnt financially feasable for everyone, the fact you can save over 90% on prices in the US and UK makes it very attractive to many.
Of course you need to do your due dilligence and make sure the dentist you decide on has both the expertise and most importantly recommendations you can check.
I have done this myself a few months ago. After extensive research i went to a delightful and highly recommended lady dentist in Mexico, and 28 top quality porcelain crowns cost me $2400/£1200. I saved myself over $33,000 on what i'd been quoted here, fully 92% less.
As i say , this isnt for everyone, but if you are thinking of spending a considerable sum of money, it is an option you should perhaps at least consider..:-)
More details on where and why i went to Mexico below
Hope this helps
Cheers
