Im wondering if my childs dentist is charging too much?

Hi! The crown is in the ballpark. I know the fillings seem like a lot but if h/she has cosmetic fillings, that is about right. I would have charged you a little less since they are baby teeth. But that is me. IN the future, discuss then and explain that you can't afford this and ask if h/she would reduce the cost to 75. Ideally the best thing is get your child on fluoride tablets everyday and brush and floss twice a day for life. If at 6 she already needs this much work, it will only continue unless the diet and oral hygiene is stepped up with fluoride and more fluoride. Ask for a child's fluoride rinse and special tooth paste. I'm so afraid this is just the beginning of a bad time unless you make drastic changes now. I have had children come in and need 4-6 crowns and extractions and turn around in 6 months. So keep at it and be patient. AND supervise her brushing everyday!! If necessary you reach and brush back molars and behind front teeth, kids can ot do a good job so don't trust her to do this on her own. They can't. Get sealants as soon as you can and I wish you the very best. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
I think that is too expensive.
it's just a bit to much my dentist charges 80.00 for fillings and 120.00 for caps
I would shop prices! call a few dentist tell them that , that her current dentist is saying she needs 4 fillings and you are trying to check on the prices if you know the teeth she needs the fillings on let them know as well this might be hard to do maybe there is more to it all dentist charge different amounts also not sure on caps I never had them . goodluck !
Hi it depends if your dentist is private if they are private those prices are actually not bad. (its up to the dentist how much they want to charge)
And just to mention the fact your 6 year old needs 4 fillings and caps is ridiculous! step up her oral hygiene or by the time she is 20 she will have no teeth left!
Dentistry is not a commodity like a can of tomato soup. You are not just buying a filling, you are paying for a professional service.
What you get for your money is - gentle care, qualified staff, strict sterilization protocols, patient education, doctor who continues to stay current on techniques and materials.
If it was my child, I wouldn't shop price - I'd shop quality and long-term value.
