Did anyone loose weight when they had braces?

Question:
If you did, how much..

Answers:
No, i've never had braces
haha. that's a good point. cuz it hurts so much to eat that you just give up.
ummmmm
What do braces have to do with losing weight?
Losing weight has to do with diet and exercise.
I wore braces when I was a teenager and it didn't effect my eating ability at all. I was normal weight and I stayed normal weight.
no. when i got them, i just ate other stuff. now i eat, like, everything. well, maybe for the first day, i didnt want to eat anything, so i just slept. probably i lost like, 2-3 pounds.
got them on now, hard to eat but no weight loss^^
yeah.. i did.. coz in the first two or three months,it hurts like hell.. you cant eat normally.. so, yeah.. you will lose weight
yeah i lost a bit at the beginning but after a while i could actually eat all the stuff they said don't eat so i went back to my original weight
I never took any notice to be honest !
you mean braces or getting your jaws wired shut? even that don't work cause people suck milkshakes through straws
No i have never had braces but someone i know has and at the first stages of having braces you will lose weight because you wont feel the enjoyment of food as you use too . and the person i know lost 7 pounds but also the person i know did want to lose some weight so it helped her..

thanks for the question
Losing weight has nothing to do with diet ... it has to do with changing your diet. Everyone has a diet.

I never had braces but I'd imagine you'll lose a little because you can't eat a lot of kinds of food. My friend had braces she lost 15lbs because some foods she couldn't eat anymore.

If you want to lose weight eat healthy & excercise.
I still have braces. I think because it hurt so much in the beginning that I couldn't eat but when I get them tightened I just suck it up now. But in the beginning I probably lost like 6 pounds.
Ok.. u mean if one had braces, they ate less or couldnt eat certain foods and thats why they lost weight lol... No that never happened to me... I never listened to my dentist...He told me not to eat hard foods like chicken leg n stuff but i ate a hard caramel chocolate once and some wire came off and it hurt terribly...oops i just went on another topic... coming back to the question... no i didnt lose weight...
i couldnt eat for the 1st 3 days i lost 2 pounds but they finally loosned up
I have braces and I didn't lose weight. If that's what you're looking forward to with braces don't because you'll just be disappointed. For me I still ate. After a week my teeth were fine. You might have to have ice cream for a few nights as dinner.
No, it doesnt really restrict your diet, even though your not supposed to eat certain foods (e.g. gum). It doesnt hurt as much as everyone says either. The first couple of times your braces get tightened your gums will be sore and you'll probab;y find it difficult to chew your food, but after a while, your gums get used to it and it doesnt hurt, you'll just get a pressurised feeling on your gum the first few days after a tightening
im wearing plastic retiners and have lost a little weight as i cant eat with them in so im not snacking as much. the annoying thing is i didnt want to loose any weight.
yes i did for like the 1st month and normally a week after every wire changing. bc i'd have so much soup and that made the pounds DROP! but then after words i'd gain more again and then lose then gain

u get my point
