Answers:
go to the emergency room and explain if you are in severe pain they have no choice but to give u stronger meds if not pull out the tooth :)
Hello so sorry about your pain hope these tips help!

*Buy clove oil and apply to and around the tooth this helps alot!!
*Rinse your mouth out with hot salty water
*combine your ibuprofen with paracetamol this helps
* eat a soft diet on the other side of your mouth
*go back to your dentist because if yours is on vacation another dentist in the practise HAS to see you.

Good luck :) x
You could try to get LIQUID Tylenol or Children's Advil, and put just a little in your mouth and swish it over the area, and let it set in the area for a bit. It may hurt at first, because of the sugar in the liquid, but this has worked for me. I think the medicine goes right to the source.
o i really do feel ur pain.. only 2 weeks ago i was in the same boat as u, couldnt eat and kept waking up every hr in tears at night! so i understand that 'needing a root canal' pain is THE worst! but seriously, u should go c another dentist cos i left mine for a while and the pain just got worse and worse, to the point where i was happy to go to the dentist! no pain relief really helps as its not strong enough... so just go see any dentist, at least they can put some antibiotics on the roots to take the pain away... good luck!
use 800 mg advil liquidgels because they are liquid and work fast. 800 works longer than 600 ibuprofen but same pain killing effect.

don't exceed 3200 per day.

I'd alternate with 2 500mg tylenol at 6 hour intervals between the advils.

for example. noon take 800 advil, 3pm take 1000 tylenol, 6m take 800 advil, 9pm 1000 tylenol.

call any dentist if you need to have the tooth pulled.
ambisol. By the way, 600mg of Ibuprofin is just 3 advil. If you think you need more, take four advil. I hope you didnt pay for a script of IB 600.
If you're still in pain, the tooth may need to be 'opened' so the abscess can drain.

Call another dentist and get in as an emergency patient if your dentist is still away~ abscesses aren't something you should put off taking care of, since it's an infection.

Good Luck!
This has helped me -- there's an acupressure spot between the thumb and the index finger, right at the fleshy part of the hand in the base of the L formed when you spread them apart. Rub there until you feel a funny tingly feeling. I then use ice massage on that point... no more than a few minutes at a time. Rub in a circular motion. When you take the ice off, the area will get red and hot, which is normal. This stimulates the acupressure point and releases endorphins to help the pain.

I saw it on TV by an acupressurist and I've used it for all kinds of head pain, including headache. It does help in my experience with it.

But ... Everyone else is right -- you need to call the office and tell them it's an emergency and go back in and see someone.
