Answers:
I'm scared of needles, but the process was so easy I didn't even know it happened. They gave me some gas first, then put in the IV, and I just fell asleep feeling good and relaxed. When I work up, I thought it was just a few minutes later, but the procedure was done. 4 days later I was back on solid foods with no side effects. Don't worry too much.
A friend of mine recently had this done... she had to take Valium just to get to the dentist, she was that nervous.. not sure she should have though.
She survived and is much happier now!! It's over before you know it.
You lay down, you feel the rush and out you go, then the next thing you know you're awake.
Forget the needle, that doesn't even hurt - I've had 12 teeth taken out thru my life (had way too many growing)
You'll be fine xxx
Edit:
Bet it's all over now, and you're in some discomfort but the scary part has finished, what?! All good.
I had it done when I was 18. I'm still here! Yes, it can be unnerving, but you will not feel a thing. You may be sore today after the procedure, but just take it easy. Enjoy everyone waiting on you hand and foot, and soon you will be back in the swing of things! You'll do fine!
i get 8 teeth pulled tomorrow! & trust me i HATE needles too. well, you won't feel it while it's happening so that's good. call a friend or listen to music, it'll help keep your mind off.
GOOD LUCK [:
Relax, if your getting the good drugs, your set. I got the good stuff. Its like taking a really good, long nap. Then they give you more good drugs after you wake up. Its a peice of cake. Don't worry! here is a smile to make you smile :)
As everyone has said, it is a PEICE OF CAKE!!! Not only have I had all 4 of my wisdon teeth pulled but I am also a dental assistant, who is also afraid of needles, and I have seen both sides of the game. And trust me when I tell you, it will be harder on the doctor than it will be on you. No worries you will be knocked out and know nothing. Everyone has given you great advise about enjoying being waited on and taking it easy for 3-4 days, you will be just fine.
It's ok to be scared.trust me! I am a chicken when it comes to the dentist, and I have to get mine taken out too. The dentist knows people are scared esp. when you are getting put to sleep and having teeth removed!! Are you getting put to sleep or will you be awake?? Either way, the dentist will not hurt you and its ok to get upset there, they have seen it all. SO if you need to cry before they start...cry on...like I said they have seen it all!
my friend had this done and he said that the procedure itself is almost painless, it's the day after that you should be worrying about.
