I can't buy toothpicks anywhere and know that dentists disapprove of them. Is it illegal to sell them?
Question:
Answers:
You can buy toothpicks in most supermarkets. They are usually in the baking section
Not in the UK..
If you can't find toothpicks in the dollar store, go to your local supermarket.
you can get toothpicks in Boots in the dental section.
the "toothpicks" in the baking aisle are cocktail sticks and not good for picking your teeth as they split very easily and you'll end up with splinters in your gums!!
Check in the housewares department at WalMart. If you can't find them than ask someone who works there. That is what they are there for.
They probably don't like the fact that you're cleaning your own teeth and not paying them to scrape em with a metal pick instead!
You can buy toothpicks, or interdental sticks in most supermarkets. Usually they are near the toothpaste and floss. In fact I bought some yesterday in Morrisons as I hate to floss. My dentist said that they are great for people who don't floss!
try a cocktail stick instead i'm sure they are'nt illegal!
Hi,
They are called "cocktail sticks" at my local Co-Op, in tubs of 50, suitable for picking out those bits of pork after a meal.
I have no problem.
My Dentist says things along the lines of -"fine, use cocktail sticks to remove detritus."
There we go .

Currently there are two different plastic ones on sale in the UK - a pointed 'handle' with a U-shaped end which has a piece of floss across it (places like Wilkinsons) or a little all-plastic lever thingy (Lakeland).
The plastic quills which I used to buy in Makro are made in France and I haven't seen any on sale here for several years.
I haven't seen wooden toothpicks here for a long time, they seem to have been replaced by 'interdental' products. I have seen cocktail sticks sold as toothpicks althought they aren't too good for your gums. Even the toothpick holder I bought for someone had cocktails sticks. You could try the internet if you want the individually wrapped ones that every caff used to have on the table and lots of US places still do! They are most definitely not illegal and my dentist does sell the plastic equivalent.
do you now that there not just for your teeth u can sick cheese on picks
