Please i'm desprate?

Question:
omg i hate braces SO MUCH! i've had them since march 28, 2007. today my dentist decided to put rubber bands on my front teeth which are being used to make my four front teeth straighten and to close up this space between my top and bottom part. he put these 8 wires on my top and bottom teeth that are clawing at my gums, the ones on my lips and the ones under my teeth. i took the rubber bands out since they were making it worse, it even made my gums bleed! is there anything i can put on my gums or whatever to stop how much my mouth hurts? (i took a tylonal so my teeth don't hurt anymore, and i am 12.)

Answers:
Well, I know this sounds cruel, but you're just gonna have to deal with it. I've had MY braces since June, 2006 and have to have them for another year. Think you're miserable? Heh! Anyway, the pain will subside soon, and if you take to much medication, your teeth will get more sensitive. If you don't take anything and just fight it off, your teeth will resistant to pain. I hope this helps. :)

P.S. They do sell topicall ointments which numb teh area for a while. You can use this to eat. They sell them at Walgreens and CVS.
actually you need to tell your dentist that hun because your braces should not be that horribly painful
orajel might work, it numbs your gums =)
i used to have braces too! they suck. but you get used to it eventually.
God that sounds painful. I just had to straighten out mine a little and move my bottom teeth back. Urs sound so complicated. I couldn't do anything to stop the pain except pain killers which dont really work. Sorry.
i think the best thing to do is to tell the dentist how you feel and see what he can do.
OMG, I know exactly how you feel, except I promise you that those nerdy headgear things are SO much worse!
Tell your orthodontist that you need a couple boxes of dental wax. Put a glob of wax on the ends of the wires that are cutting you. It feels gross, but at least then you can wear the rubber bands, which have little side benefits, like you can shoot them at boys...
Braces are so much more advanced now than they were when I was 13, which is when I got my braces. At least now, they can use glue to attach the thingies that hold the wire, instead of using metal BANDS around your teeth, which they attached with a thing I always called a thumper. It would go *thoing, thoing* and every thoing felt like they were driving needles into your brain. I told my orthodontist to quit for a minute one day. He didn't, so I bit his thumb through to the bone. He screamed like a little girl. Next time I asked him to stop, he stopped on a dime, I can tell you that, lol. Of course, that was before they invented HIV and AIDS, so it only caused a few stitches and a nasty infection. Now, they'd probably charge me with attempted murder or something...
Anyway, I don't know if they use dental wax anymore, but if they don't want to give you any, go and get a box of parafin. It's not too expensive and you get WAY more than you need in the one pound box. Cut off a little chunk and play with it in your fingers until it gets soft, then you can apply it to the scratchy wires. Or you can nuke it, but then it gets too hot, and it's messier that way.
All I can say is this. Now I'm 50. I hardly ever brush my teeth, but they still look really good. Before I had braces, it looked like I was eating a box of dominos. So keep the faith, and remember to wear the rubber bands, so they don't decide to give you some of that nerdy looking headgear, like I had to wear when I wouldn't wear my rubber bands...
Best wishes!
Tylenol
Wax
Leave your rubber bands on!! They are ther for a reason and by taking them out you are just making yourself have braces longer than necessary!!
