What are bands suppose to do to your braces?

Question:

Answers:
The little colored bands that go on top of the metal help keep wires on, and they also can pull your teeth closer together (if you get a chain). The rubber bands that you hook from top to bottom help fix an overbite or underbite.
They provide the tension to move the teeth in a given direction. I hated them. The more you wear them, the faster your teeth will move and the quicker you can get the darn things off! Well worth the agony, but still a pain!
