Find a way to get to a dentist a lot sooner. Antibiotics will help take away some of the pain, if the pain is due to infection, which sounds like a serious possibility if you already know you have three cavities to contend with, but also know that anything you do "to get you through" is a temporary fix and the pain in all likelihood will only get worse. Pain meds are not a good solution and ambesol only numbs the gum area.

THERE IS A MEDICINE I BUY AT WALGREENS IT IS RED CROSS TOOTHACHE MEDICINE. I actually belive its so strong it kills the nerve it will taste very nasty but after 5 minutes of the taste u will have noooooooo pain. also if it is bothering u when u drink hot or cold fluids then there is a toothache gum that also covers the cavity so nothing can get in
clove oil...works wonders...and you don't use that much at a time...apply it to the tooth gum area with a q-tip and it will numb the area...don't swallow when you apply it as it taste nasty and will numb your tongue
