ALWAYS FOLLOW THE ADVISE OF YOUR ORTHODONTIST BUT IN OUR CLINIC WE WOULD TELL YOU AFTER IT'S BEEN THAT LONG TO TRY THEM IN EVERY NOW AND THEN AND IF YOU SEE YOUR RETAINERS ARE GETTING TIGHT START WEARING THEM A LITTLE MORE. JUST KEEP AN EYE ON IT.
you should keep wearing the retainer or your teeth will shift again
Ask your dentist, everyone gets told different lenths of time to keep it on
well 5 years of wearing a retainer isn't really bad, if you keep up with your check ups and they don't say anything, then you should be fine, but I recomend you do wear it... I mean it's not that hard just to pop it in at night and take it out when you wake up... I used to have to wear it 24/7 until I went back 2 years later and they said I could wear it nights
probally not. five years is probally enough and your teeth might shift a little but not back to what they were. i'm sure your fine.
It is not bad.but u need to wear it at night especially...if u stop wearing it all togeahter then ur teeth will go back to the way they where b4 u got braces...if urs where as bad as mine i don't think u would want that...i am suppose to wear mine 24/7 but i only wear it at night i know how embarassing it is to wear that in frount of people u like to crush on lol.:D
Yes, in the long run it's bad. My boss and his wife both had braces when they were younger, stopped wearing the retainer and now in their early 50's their bottom teeth a so crooked they need braces again.
