I have to have braces im kinda scared.?

Question:
Ok first i have 2 have 2 deep cavity's filled.
Does that hurt? Do you think i will have to have a shot?

And then i get my braces. Im kinda freaked about it. Do they hurt when they put them on? and how about getting them tightend.?

Some things you should know about my teeth.
-I have a pretty bad over bite.
-i have one side ways tooth in the front.
-my bottoms are pretty straight.

Oh and my backteeth are straight. So will i have to have braces back there?

Answers:
Ok, I've had cavities and braces so...
1. yes you will probably have a shot. The cavity being filled without a shot would hurt A LOT worse then with the shot. I'm so scared of needles, but in this case- the shot is a GOOD thing!
2. It doesn't hurt to get your braces on, when you get them tightened, it feels uncomfortable. Then it will hurt for about 2 days as your teeth adjust to the new setting, it only hurts to eat because it causes tenderness to move your teeth out of the placement they have been in for your entire life. (No biggie)
3. I was the most scared to get my braces OFF! To get them on, they basically just dab a little cement (glue) on your tooth & place the brace on it. (doesn't hurt at all), but I couldn't stop thinking about breaking the bond of the cement, wouldn't it break my tooth off? well .. it didn't hurt, just uncomfortable again.. nothing to worry about, and it will be a long ways away.
4. You'll probably have braces on your back teeth too because they need to align them all straight. My back teeth were straight and I got braces back there. If you have an over-bite, they may use the back braces for an over-bite correction (or rubber bands)- I loved my rubber bands lol =)

So, if you're concerned, let your dentist know, because he can describe best to you, and he knows how to handle scared patients-- I bet over 95% of his patients are scared! Good luck!!
ok... this is gonna sound weird... but i find braces atractive

and they dont hurt
Yes, you will probably be given a shot to numb your mouth before they fill your cavities. And yes, getting braces hurts. Make sure you stock up on mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and yogurt. You wont be able to chew very well for a week.
dont worry calm down braces dont do anything trust they only stick them with a glueish kinda thing and they take them out
trust u wont feel it
Ok gettin cavaties filled will always hurt. Braces dont hurt when they put them on but after they will. When they are tighted, its the same issue, after they hurt but not during the process
Uhmm... its not somthing to be scared of... i had em for lyk ever
yes you will have to get the shot so you won't feel the pain, unless you don't want anesthesia to help you

consult your dentist
I had braces in high school. They hurt like a ***** at first. The first week you get them, you won't even wan't to eat. After awhile you get used to them.
You will have to have a shot, and you'll be grateful for it...the dentist will numb the shot area first, so you'll hardly feel it. The back teeth are the anchors for the braces, so you will have bands back there. I'll warn you that the first two days after braces are put on, it can be VERY painful (dull, constant ache) so don't plan any parties that weekend. But then it gets better, you get used to them in a hurry, and the tightenings are not so bad...a little achy each time, but not bad. The result of nice, even teeth is well worth the temporary discomfort. Good luck!
i got mine on last year.
it doent hurt qat all getting thm on. they glue it on. you wont feel a thing. no shots needed! when you get them tightened, they ache. not hurt. just take some tylenol after and it won't bother you anymore.

you'll have braces on all your teeth, top and bottom.
trust me, it doesnt hurt at all. i was nervous too, but theres nothing to be nervous about. you'll be fine!
you mght have to get a shot but it doesnt hurt very much
they put freezing gel first.

when you get braces put on the dont hurt much its usually the
next day and when the get new elastics and such on them.

you might get what i had
a couple of the front teeth having braces on them
but thn i got full braces so i guess it depends on how
fast your teeth grow and such

but yeah hopefully that kinda helps
but pretty much braces dont hurt too bad
=]]
the cavities it only going to hurt a little when they shot goes i but it feels like a pinch o its not that bad.
As for the braces, they are going to hurt a little too, best you can do is eat before you go to the orthodontist and take some tylenel or something for the pain also right before. When your gonna eat and its still hurting, then eat stuff like soup and jello its soft so you wont have to chew much.
Bright side its not that bad after a little while and but then you'll have straight teeth :)
goodluck
hahaha
you teeth were just like mine before i had braces!
I had a huge overbite, one tooth pointed north, and my bottoms were relativly straight.
And I had to get a deep cavity filled.

Well, im sorry to say but the cavity part was the worst part for me. They'll most likely give u a shot, but they slightly numb the outside of your gums, so you shouldn't feel it as much.

As for the braces, your teeth will be sore. Not at the beginning, but after a day, you'll start to feel it. Tylenol and Advil became my best friends after every appointment.

It doesn't hurt when they put them on, u dont feel it at all, its just a long time. You will feel them tighten the wires though. And taking them off is rough cause they glue it on.

You'll be fine!
And your gonna be sooo happy when you get them off and realize you have straight teeth!!
I had cavities too. They just painted this white stuff over them. Didn't hurt at all. The process they do on you depends on how deep the cavity is. If it's really deep they may give you a shot to numb the area.
I had an overbite too. There's nothing today's dentists can't fix.
I also had braces for 3 years. It doesn't hurt when they put them on, because they just glue them to your teeth, but it does make your gums sore when they tighten them and it's near impossible to eat solid foods after tightening.(No burgers, or pizza, etc.)
I would stick to things like applesauce, milkshakes, banana,etc.--soft foods. Gargle with some hot salt water, it takes away the soreness after tightening.

They may put metal things around your back molars as connectors, so that the wire goes through the metal thing and it straightens out your front teeth. Your teeth may feel a bit loose at times, because they are shifting from their "normal" position into a straight one,but don't pull on them!

You may want to get some Orajel because you will ocasionally get cuts on the inside of your lip from the braces rubbing against them.

Best thing about braces is when they let you pick the colors for the bands lol and eventually you will have a great smile!
Ok first of all the cavity filling shouldn't hurt, because they should numb you. As far as braces when you first get them on later that day and maybe next you won't be able to eat anything but soup and jell-o and stuff like that. Your mouth feel absolutely numb ...and it does hurt a lil but it goes away pretty fast. When you go to get them tighten they do kind of hurt but not really. You'll be more amazed at the way your teeth shape up real fast. No matter what the minor pain is it's all worth it for a beautiful smile. Good Luck!
I've had braces, so let me tell you. When you get them on your teeth will hurt, and you will prob just want to stick to a liquid diet for a while, eating anything too chewy will hurt. But you can take some ibuprofen or something for the pain. You'll adjust after a few days and they won't hurt again. until you get them tightened. It's not that bad, don't stress. And when you get your cavity's filled they will definitely drug you so you are nice and numb. They will prob inject them into your gums, so expecting that should help a little, it's a just quick pinch. The more relaxed you get make yourself be, the less it'll hurt. So relax. Think happy thoughts :)
they only hurt when they first get put on the first week. but oragel will help that.
