Could any dentist give me some advice on my IMPACTED LEFT UPPER CUSPED TOOTH?
I need to know what to do. I have an impacted left upper cusped tooth. I went to the oral surgeon and they said I would have to loose the cusped (because it probably would have turned brown by now). The cusped tooth is horizontal in the gum line. The C. tooth actually grew through the root of the permanent tooth to the right of it so I may lose it too (visable in the front if I lost them). The only way I can get two implants, I will have to get bone graphs to build up enough foundation for implants. I know that will cost at least $6K. I am a college student and funds are limited. So would my best option be to get a bridge that would connect the first upper molar and go across to the next first molar? My upper teeth are not perfectly straight anyway (that should cause me to have a perfect straight smile with the bridge right?). I am just looking for the best fix for now. and later when I get out of college I may seek for implants. If the bridge is permanant I'll just keep a bridge.

I would suggest a form of partial denture until you are able to get implants. The cost would be similar if not less than the bridge. When a bridge is done the dentist must first cut down the two teeth that the bridge would anchor to. So you are taking away tooth structure from two healthy teeth. And if in the future you were to get implants for the missing teeth, the two teeth that the bride are anchored to would have to be crowned after the bridge is removed. If you were to get the bridge it would be permanent. Hope this helps.
