My 2yr old only has 8 teeth!! I am really worried!!?

Question:

My daughter is gonna be 2yr soon and she only has 8 teeth, she hasn't gotten a new tooth in over 6 months. She has her top and bottom front two teeth and each of her back 2yr old molars and thats it. I am starting to worry that she wont get anymore and i don't know what to do. She did see a dentist back about 3 months ago, she said not to worry and said it looked like she was about to get her other front ones, but nothing has come in and there's no sign of any coming up. What to do?

Wow, that's unusual. Go back to the dentist. Ask for an x-ray to see if the teeth are underneath the gumline.

Stress isn't the solution. Ask your dentist about it.Don't be up tight about it.

That is very odd! Have you tried seeing a dentist about this matter! If she visited a dentist and nothing has still happened, I would recommend taking her back. It might just be a very slow process for your child. Give it some more time but I would still take her back to the dentist!

that happend to my cousin. that's normal. just give it some time! if all her teeth are not in by the age 6, have the dentist pull them down from the gum.-hope I helped!

sometimes children have late teeth development or if you`re really worried you can see a physician for some examinations

thats actually great! less chance of decaying and tooth problems one down side is the fact she may not lose her teeth with all the other kids her age but thats ok. my ten year old boy cut his first tooth at 18 months up till he was 4 he lost his first tooth at 81/2 and still hasnt lost all his baby teeth, but the kid doesnt have a cavity in his head!
