Cavity Help!?
Question:
Answers:
Hi! Relax, this is the 21th century. AND getting a cavity filled does not hurt and the only discomfort is a tiny pinch from the small needle and the sound of the drill. I have patients that are 5-7 years old get cavities filled and spend more time with the stickers than getting upset with the filling. I also give them a teddy bear to hold and I actually have several adults that WANT the teddy bear as well. You will not need a crown unless the tooth is broken down by more than 1/2 of it's normal crown size. I doubt this is the case so forget it. A simple filling takes about 15-20 minutes and you will be on your way home before you have time to break a sweat. Relax. We do this all day long and I have yet to have anyone cry, yell or get upset. When I say we practice painless dentistry, I mean it and so do most Drs. So get it done ASAP before it gets bigger and you will see just how simple it is. Good luck, if you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
no it will be fine, dont worry
No getting a cavity filled does not hurt. You will be numb during the procedure and afterwards it will be like nothing ever happened. You should get a crown when the cavity covers a lot of the tooth. A filling would be too weak to put on the whole tooth. It would crack and break. The dentist will let you know which is best. If they say a crown definately get a crown they know what they are talking about.
