Is there anything that can be done if you have very minimal gums?

Hi! Did your dentist tell you this? Because everyone is different. I have been in dentistry for over 25 years and the lack of gum or over amount makes very little difference if you keep your hygiene prestine and healthy. Brushing and flossing and using a rinse 2 times a day will keep your gums and teeth healthy for your whole life. Small teeth and gums have little to no bearing on how long you will keep your teeth. Diseased gum is an issue. And then after surgery, periodonists can try to attach a piece, but it tends to fail most of the time. Remember you tooth sits in bone. And the gum is a covering for the roots and provides a healthy nurishing blood supply. Without that, you can have lots of gum disease and loose teeth, but I think you are worrying for nothing. You mouth is what it is and more gum does not mean you will have healthier teeth. Take care of what you have and you should be fine. If you have any other questions, please ask. I will help you in any way that I can. Marie
the dentist can take a piece of skin from the roof of your mouth and implant it along your gum line where it is minimal, you should consider this b/c deterierating gums can leave you more prone to infections and gingivitis. i is very easy procedure and nothing to be scared of.
Jennie--- your question makes me want to ask you a question. Have you been to the dentist in the last 5 years? NO--highly suggest that you call a doctor and let the professional answer all your questions. About gum disease...
