I'm getting braces soon and I'm turning twenty in a month. I'm going to have them for 1.5 - 2 years. I was devasted when I found out Invisalign wouldn't work for me (another reason was that I had braces for four years, two years ago) . I then talked to many friends and they all said it wasn't a big deal. People in their thirties, forties, and fifties are getting braces these days. I know a couple who are in their late forties and got braces together. They still have a year to go.
Ah well, its better to take care of your teeth than to just put the matter aside. If you need them and you have the money then get them! I guess people don't think of it as too much of a big deal these days.

Christina Applegate got married wearing braces. I am almost 22 and need braces. I plan on getting them when I can get dental insurance. I have to get my wisdom teeth out and junk first.

yes, lots of adults have them. I can think of three or four that I know right now.
I am 44 have always looked after teeth had a brace when i was 17 they were straight. but age can shrink gums and one of my front ones moved over so i am getting another brace. I have had people saying to me why bother at your age cheeky!.. cos i wanna keep my own teeth and have them look good. if i could afford it i would do more.
I am an adult with invisalign, I would never get braces because they are so noticable.
