Question:
is it cause the gap has closed too quick or i am not keeping the rubberband in long enough?
Is there any other techniques i can use to close my gap.it a very small gap between my two front teeth.
Also i do not want to get veneers or invisible braces or bonding that is why i am looking for alternatives to close the small gap. So.
ANY ALTERNATIVES TO CLOSE A SMALL GAP!
Answers:
You have to keep them in for a couple months for it to stay that way or make sure that the teeth around them move into place to support the other teeth.
I would stick to the rubberbands. Maybe you could wear them every night when you go to bed? It's just like braces, you can't simply put them on for a month, you have to wear them for years so the teeth actually move into place and stay there. I had braces for 3 years and it was such a pain in the butt. But it was really worth it. I would wear the bands for like a month straight if you want to see real changes. I know thats not what you wanted to hear sorry!
hmm maybe you should see your dentist, and if you want the gap to close permantely you should wear these bands every day and they should close in a few months. My dentist said to me because i also have a small gap that the time the gap takes to close is different for everyone, some people may only take a month and others could take up to a year or more.
I got an expander put in my mouth to do the opposite...once my teeth were where my doctor wanted them I had to keep it for one extra month so the teeth could settle and not shift back to the original position. So put the rubber band back on and don't take it off for about a month and it should be fine.
Good luck :D
If your dentist or orthodontist did not give you the rubberbands I would not use them. You can cause damage to the tooth and the surrounding bone and ligaments. If it is a small gap your dentist should be able to give you options on how to close the space. If you don't like what he has to say, get a second opinion. You should never try to close spaces by some means not perscribed by your dentist.
