no it doesnt hurt at all! it just feels a little weird...like ulll feel pressure on ur teeth when they get tightened...but not to the extent of pain! trust me i had them for 2 years now and im super used to them...actually i think it will feel more weird when theyre off(:
no..they hurt a little at first, but you get used to them quickley
Mine hurt like hell for the fist week. than I got use to them and it was fine.
Good luck it is all worth it at the end
when they put them on it doesnt but you'll have to take pain relievers for a week
Uncomfortable when they are put on and can tend to be a bit sore when the teeth shift. Motrin or tylenol helps when they shift-its a bit of pressure on your teeth
Im 9 now and i have braces but what kind do u mean?
It depends on the person, but usually they hurt (especially if your teeth are spaced out). I didn't eat much for the first few days because of the pain. i couldn't even chew some cooked broccoli. But you'll get used to it. It's worth it, considering you'll have straight teeth after!
It depends but have some pain med handy
ehh not when you get them on but the next day yes sorry =[
they do at a begging. it will just last for about a week. try not eating gum. it will be very easy for you to get hurt, when hit in the mouth, so try ashard as you can not to
They will HURT Badly for the first week, maybe 2. After that, you are OK. But et me warn ya, if you have to wear retainers after you get them off, thet hurt 2X Worse! but just for a week or 2 . Oh, and everytime they tighten up your braces, they might hurt a lil for a lil bit.
Yes your teeth will ache when they are done and when you get your adjusments. Keep ibuprofen or naproxen on hand and ask your doc how much a prescription dose is of each one so you know HOW MANY pills to take for pain and how often. Be sure you have things like soup, pudding and mashed potatoes on hand to eat.
I'm not going to lie to you, they do hurt. When you get them put on, and every time you go to the orthodontist to get them tightened, you will have about a 3 day period of pain. It will hurt to bite down and chew, so just take it easy. You will get used to the pain, and in the future, you will barely notice it.
Just take some pain meds before you go to get them on, and keep taking them on a safe schedule (ask your doc if this is okay!). You will be fine, and have a beautiful smile very soon! It is 100% worth all the pain!
Honestly, it is going to hurt A LOT. You won't be able to eat for a while and chances are you're going to get hysterical and ask your parents to take you back to the ortho office so they can take them off. I know I did that! Anyway, Advil will be your best friend while you're in braces. When I first got mine, eating was hard and I was in a lot of pain for about a week, but after those tough days you don't even notice they're there. When you get them tightened they will hurt for a day or two and your teeth will be very sensitive and again it will be hard to eat, so just get a lot of rest, take a lot of Advil, and eat warm soup or pudding or some other type of liquid. In the end it'll be worth it though! Good luck!!
i've had brace 3 times so if anyone knows its me; the first thing he does is clean your teeth then he globs glue on each tooth next he'll use a black light to seal the bracket on your tooth and then the rubber bands on then you go hame fell fine then your mouth gets relly sore for like 3 days then you feel better just keep thinking how good you'll look with out them
yea when i had mine (free dental woo hoo) it really hurt for 3-4 days after took a few hours to kick in, but ouch! it really hurt. after that it was fine and when they where 'tightened' they hurt for maybe an hour tops
Yes, it will hurt.
Your teeth and gums will be sore because of the pressure from the wire.
Your cheeks and lips will be sore for a while because they aren't used to having brackets on them. The brackets will cut and cause sores in your mouth, I recommend using zilactin-B, you can find it at most pharmacies/ drug stores, I always got mine at Walgreen's.
The mouth sores will only be there for about a week or so and the pain from the pressure will only last a few hours, you can sometimes avoid this by taking a Tylenol or ibuprofen right before you head to the orthodontist.
sorry... but they hurt bad but than the pain will go away until u get them thightend and thanit goes away and so on
i got mine today and asked the same thing. They dont hurt when you get them because they put this numbing stuff on it...but then as the day progresses they start to hurt more and get bad, just cut up youre food and if you have any problems just ask you orthodontist
