Canine Dentistry To Root Canal or Not Root Canal?

Answers:
At the first appointment they will get you numb and take out any old filling or decay and then they will reduce and reshape the tooth. They will then place a piece of string around the tooth called retraction cord. This will stop any bleeding and it will also push the gum back a little so they will have a better impression of the tooth. They will make you a temporary crown to wear for a few weeks while you are waiting on the permanent crown to come back from the lab. When you come back to get your permanent crown they will get you numb if the tooth is sensitive and then they will take the temporary crown off and try in the permanent crown. They will check to make sure you are not hitting that tooth first when you bite. If you are then they will adjust it. They should take an xray of the crown to make sure the margins of the crown fit the tooth properly. If everything looks good then they will cement the crown on your tooth and then you are done. Your gum around the tooth may be a little sensitive after the first appointment but it should not be very painful. Crowns are a little expensive but they are worth it. You always want to save your natural teeth if you can. I hope this helps you a little. Good Luck and you are doing the right thing by getting the crown and saving your tooth.

Invisalign for bottom teeth only.?

The crown is fastened to the ground down old tooth. It won't hurt because the dentist will give you novacaine. Ask the dentist about the price and how much your dental plan will pay.

Teeth loosened from braces?

They grind down the tooth to a small stump like shape, then make an impression of it, and that makes the shape of the inside of the crown. The doctor then makes up a perm. dental glue and glues it on once the crown is made from the lab a couple weeks later after the impression is made. (U will have a temp. for a few weeks) Yes, crowns are very expensive!

Is it legal for dental practices to ban you from going back to their practice because of a missed appt.?

It may surprise you to learn that crowns stay on by close adherence to the underlying tooth. Just like two wet pieces of window pane laying on top of each other. You have to slide them apart. You can not pull them apart.
Putting a crown on doesn't hurt at all. Preparing the tooth for it would, but the dentist numbs the area before hand.
The cost depends on a lot of factors. There are a lot of different types of crowns for different situations. You can expect it to cost you a bit in any case.
