Lost my brace?
ok i guess i broke my very back brace on the bottom which obviously isnt connected so it slipped off... i realised this only about two minutes ago and i dont remeber spitting anything out so obviously i swallowed it... does anyone know how many free brackets they give you untill you have to pay for them? this has only been my second one since feb.

Oh, yeah! I lost mine twice and they did not care at all and I did not have to pay anything. I am sure that they will not charge you for a while (unless you are doing it on purpose).

um if you are under 18 then its free. But it varys on how many times you break it and the dentist.

Wow... that's some kind of predicament!! now, is it the ring on your back moler or an actuall bracket on the smaller tooth, b/c 4 me it's the ring. I beleive it is 3 free brackets before you have to pay for them. That's soooo weird that has happened to you, b/c It happened to me as well, but it's still sitting on my tooth, but it Does come off if I pull on it... but i do think it's 3 free before the fee... hope I helped!! It sounds like it is a bracket that you lost...People swallow these all the time do not worry this will not hurt you. As far as having to pay for a new bracket I would say you would not have to pay for this. At my office we allow quite a few broken brackets because we know this is going to happen to most people. The only time we charge a patient for bracket's is when then come into every single visit with multiple brackets or wires off or broken then our Dr. will sit down with the patient/parent and tell them if this continues to happen we will start to charge per bracket or wire.
You will be fine until your next appointment. If anything starts to hurt or poke you can put some wax on it. Again relax it's nothing to worry about.
