Whats with the quest for 'toilet bowl' white teeth?
Question:

I have to agree with you there!! People are SO convinced that WHITE is normal when no-one's teeth are actually white. The dental enamel usually has a grey/yellow hue depending on the colour of the underlying dentine. Not only does bleaching cause sensitivity, it has been shown in some studies to reduce the effectiveness of fillings adhering to the tooth surface. It also can make the enamel more porous which picks up stains more readily. A good scale and polish will bring up the lustre of natural teeth quite nicely. I can understand the "cosmetic" side of things to, whiter are brighter in the media! But who wants chalky coloured teeth?? Some ppl go too far...
I want movie-star white teeth, but no bleach please.
baking soda is a good choice to try
