Ahhhh i have a giant cavity in on my teeth -what is the dentist specifically gonna do?
Question:
and if i get a gold tooth or fillings, do they decay just as well as the other normal tooth?
Answers:
Fillings don't decay. With as bad as your decay sounds, you might need a root canal. You might not, but prepare yourself for that possibility. On this visit the dentist will do your x-rays, clean your teeth, numb your mouth and drill out the cavity. You won't feel anything but pressure. Then they fill the hole that was made and harden the filling material, and you are done! If It's bad enough to need a root canal, then you will make an appointment for that on another day most likely.
Dentists aren't about causing you pain anymore. Any procedures that are done you are numbed up A LOT so that you won't feel pain. Don't worry, you will be fine!
It depends. I had a dentist who used grit to blast the cavity away. No anesthesia, no pain. However, they MAY inject a pain killer into your mouth (which DOES hurt) and then drill away the cavity, which won't hurt after the injections. You can usually just get a composite filling, which is white and hard to see. They still use silver, since it's cheaper, but they last as long as, if not longer than the tooth.
I see...It night not be a cavity. Must be a stain.
If it is a cavity, you might have you get the tooth extracted because the cavity is too big.
