RUBBER BAND (elastics) HELP?
Question:
My questions are:
1)How bad do rubberbands hurt?
2)Are they hard to put on & take off?
3)Will 3 months of rubberbands be enough to to fix my overbite?
Answers:
1. You will be sore but take medicine and you will get used to them after wearing them a few days. Keep wearing them when you're sore the first few days because if you take them out because they hurt, they're just going to be sore again all over when you put them back in.
2. No they will teach you how to do them and make sure you know how before you leave. It may take some getting used to and might have trouble at first but you'll learn to do them fast and not even need a mirror.
3. It depends when a patient has elastics. You need to wear them however long your orthodontist tells you to. (sometimes you need to wear them 24/7 sometimes only at night). As long as you follow the rules and do them as good as you possibly can you'll be ok. I've seen people get them off early from good rubber band wearing.. and i've seen people go months over their schedule because they won't wear them.

1) Rubber Bands dont hurt, I have some friends that have them and the just snap off sometimes,I just have braces.
2) No there not that hard to take off because the top of you braces have that part to hold them on.
3) Yesss, you'd be suprised what three months can do.
Rubber bands don't hurt at all. They are hard to put on the first couple days but after that you will be an old pro at it. If the ortho. said 3 months of rubberbands then it should work. I always like the rubberbands. They were fun to shoot at people and they went fast. Good Luck!! :)
