How do you know if you damaged a nereve after getting your tounge peirced?

Question:

Answers:
It could be lack of feeling or shooting pain. However, you will need to do some healing and get a reduction in swelling before you might actually get an accurate picture of what is going on.

This blurb is from the ADA -
Common symptoms after oral piercing include pain, swelling, infection, an increased flow of saliva and injuries to the gum tissue. If a blood vessel was in the path of the needle during the piercing, severe and difficult-to-control bleeding can result. For some, chipped or cracked teeth, blood poisoning or even blood clots can occur. For many, the swelling of the tongue is a common side effect. And in extreme cases, a severely swollen tongue can actually close off the airway and prevent breathing.

Hope that helps!

best way to know if u have a damaged nerve is to go to the doctor and check it out. but, if your tongue hasnt stopped hurting withing a week/ go back to the tattoo/piercing shop you got it done at and talk to your piercer, explain to them how you feel, but the place you went to, should have been experienced, if not they need to loose their license.
