Tooth extraction??
i need to have a couple of my teeth removed and my dentist said i may need an oral surgeon to do it...im not looking for a dead on price, just an example of lowest to highest cost for this procedure.

The cost is usually dependent on which tooth (third molars-wisdom teeth) which usually cost more and the difficulty in extracting (impacted or not impacted). Some general dentists don't like to extract teeth so they refer all of them out. You may also look into a dental school if there is one close to you. Most schools have a walk-in emergency clinic and will be able to extract the teeth that same day if they aren't impacted. Plus you usually will pay about 1/3 of the cost that you would in private practice. I am currently in my last year of dental school and we charge roughly $50 per extracted tooth whereas you will pay anywhere from $150-$300 or more with an oral surgeon. This doesn't include any extra sedation that you might want, including nitrous oxide or IV sedation.

I had three wisdom teeth extracted - one was impacted and the other 2 were through the gums. It was about $600, but I only had nitrous gas in the office, no general anesthesia or IV sedation. Those would add to the cost.
The cost will vary by how big of a city you're in and what part of the country you live in. I'm in a medium-sized city in the Midwest.

well i got 4 of my wisdom teeth removed on monday. i dont have any insurance whats so ever so it cost me around 1600. And they weren't fully grown so they put me to sleep and it was at a oral surgent place. I think wisdom teeth cost more to extract. so it should be a little less then that.
