I'm having two root canals done TODAY, any advice??
My endodontist prescribed Halcion which I'm taking in a little while, but still... sooo much fear! I fractured my tooth when I was little, and it developed into an abscess which was the worst pain I've ever felt. I was on 2 antibiotcis for 10 days, and now the time has come!! Two in one sitting! Will it hurt?? Advice pleeease, from an anxious patient! Thanks!!

The abscess hurt worse. Having a root canal done today is just like having a filling done. It is just a little more tedious work for the dentist so it takes longer. It used to take 2 and sometimes 3 appts to complete a root canal treatment. Nowdays it's just one visit. Doing two teeth at the same time is the same as doing one. No worries you will be fine. I've had a few root canals, the old way and the current way. I also am a dental assistant and our patients who have never had a root canal before always say "You guys were right, it wasn't bad at all!"

it wont hurt as bad as your thinking but it will not be totally painless either but it will be as nothing compared to your abcesses.
No, it shouldn't hurt bad. The denist will give you shots to keep it from hurting. Start taking pain med. before the feeling comes back. You could even try reg. tylenol instead of the prescription.

The actual work done on the root canal was not so painful while he was working on it, but the clamp that they put around your tooth was somewhat ouchy. The stress is worse than all of the work he/she does on you combined...I will send you some positive healing energy.

Halcoin is a sedative right?? Are you doing the sedation dentistry? You should be fine if you are doing that!
The antibiotics for 10 days was given to cure the abscess before working on the canal to avoid general infection. I myself had the same thing, they will be giving you anesthesia and you won't feel anything at all, because it's two canal, it will take some time, but it won't hurt.
I also had a root canal done over again, i had to do it in two visit, it all went fine, you just relax on the chair and wait for the Dr to finish the job..after that, you won't be experiencing pain ever because they will take the nerve out, so the tooth will be lifeless.
Everything will be fine, you can be sure of that.
Root canals are not as bad as there were several years ago. You will be fine. You need to take all of your antibiotics as prescribed because that will make the infection go away which will make the pain go away. After they remove the nerve of each tooth you will feel alot better because that is what is infected. The teeth may be a little sensitive after the procedure but it will not be as bad as what you have already experienced. Good luck! You will do just fine.
What would be some reason for children contained by the 1950's to be put within leg braces?
I had three done at once, and all the hype turned out to be nothing. I got the gas and local anesthesia, and never hurt once during the procedure, other than a little poke from the needle when they numbed me.
