Dentists arggghhh?
i have really bad toothache, went to see the dentist and he's on holiday seen another one on his behalf and the plonker made me feel like i was lying to him, that i didn't have toothache then he done an x ray and seen a big massive hole in my tooth but he didn't fix it just told me to take painkillers and watch out for an abcess and make an appointment in 2 weeks when my dentist comes back, why didn't he fix it?
is there anyway of complaining about the way he treated me im with the NHS

What an idiot! I would call up and speak to reception about it and ask why he didnt do the work. They cant put of everyone off for two weeks they should have someone to cover.
Dentist can seem to do what they like especially the NHS ones however; you can complain to PALS.
One of the reasons he/she might not have filled your tooth is that he/she was worried about infection. Obviously the painkillers are what they say on the box. In a way he/she might of done you a favour in that leaving the decision for a later consultation with your own dentist.
If you get feverish and swelling develops seek advice on NHS Direct.

He should have at least given you some temporary filling or something
Horrible spicy tang contained by mouth 5 days after tooth extraction.?
i would contact you primary care trust, but you dont have the qualifications that the dentist has, so they would shun your complaint saying you dont know what you are on about. And they would always side with their own over other people.
Good Luck with the complaint and getting rid of the toothache, and i hope you dont get an abcess.

To add to another user, try PALS. That stands for Patient Advice and Liason Service. You complain to them. Well, phone them up, explain what happened and they'll advise you on the next course of action.

At what age did you get braces put on your teeth?

I had 7 teethe pulled 4 days ago and got stitches...?
I'm sure there is a procedure for complaints against dentist, contact your local health authority, they will know who you should contact, or contact the citizen's advise bureau, most organizations have a complaints policy, the receptionist at your dentist should have the details also.
If he took an xray and saw that there is a hole in it and has told you to watch out for an abcess then it sounds to me like it is close to the nerve which is causing you your pain. If the tooth is infected he should have given you antibiotics and maybe placed a temp filling depending if the hole is visible. As for complaints i can understand that your angry, try phoning the surgery and speaking to the practice manager to see if he can give you an appropriate answer as to the treatment you have or have not received. If he can not give you a good enough answer then try and contact your local primary care trust. They should be able to give you all of the telephone numbers and addresses you need.
What will happen if i consume face wash?
No, there is no way of complaining. I'm guessing that you called the office and they squeezed you into their schedule the same day or the next day. Am I correct? Its EXTREMELY common that when a dental office sees an "emergency" patient that the ONLY thing they do is TAKE AN X-RAY AND DO THEIR BEST TO GET THE PATIENT OUT OF PAIN. If the schedule allows the doctor time to treat the problem, THEN they usually will but they don't have too. Its not against the law and its not unethical. Actually, he didn't even have to see you, even though you were in pain. He could have told you to go to the emergency room for the toothache or call someone else. The fact that you only called his office because your dentist is out of town is another reason why he most likely did not treat you right there. Why should he put you before put HIS patients? He already knows that you will not be returning to him so why risk upsetting the patients that come faithfully? Its very possible that his schedule is was very full and he squeezed you in to his best ability just to get you out of pain. Also, a massive hole in your tooth doesn't occur over night. It takes quite some time. You probably knew it was there for a while but it wasn't bothering you so you ignored it. Am I right? Then, when it did start hurting, your doctor was gone and you expected another dentist to drop everything on his schedule to accommodate you. I understand that you are angry but try and be logical. You can certainly write the doctor a letter and let him know that you didn't appericiate his rudeness. You can be sure to let him know that you will tell all your friends and family about your experience as well and that you will never refer anyone to him. I think it was a little rude for his front desk not to have told you that you wouldn't be treated. They should have told you that they were only able to get you out of pain. That would be frustrating to take time out of your day expecting treatment only to have an x-ray. Trust me, that will get to him. You can of course report but I guarentee you wont get anywhere. If your tooth keeps hurting you and your dentist is still gone you can always contact another office. However, when you do contact another office make sure to ask them if they have time to treat you. Otherwise, you will wind up with yet another x-ray and bottle of pain pills. Please keep in mind that insurance companies will only pay for so many x-rays and office visits per year. Double check with your insurance company so you dont wind up with any extra co-pays. Hope you feel better soon.
