Does smoking really turn your teeth yellow even if they are being brushed 2-3 times a day?

Question:
Please explain. ^_^

Answers:
Yes. It is possible for smoking to stain your teeth despite frequent brushing. Cigarettes and other tobacco products have many components that contribute to staining of teeth. Typically, you'll see the stains on the back sides of the upper and lower teeth because this is commonly where the inhaled substances hit the teeth first. Tar is the primary staining agent. Hypothetically, if you brushed your teeth thoroughly and immediately after each smoking event, no staining would occur. Such a habit is not practical which explains why most smokers show signs of staining over time. Typically, these stains are very stubborn and can only be removed by a dental hygienist or dentist at your 6-12 month recall visits.

Smoking obviously has more damaging effects on the pulmonary and cardiovascular systems. Remember quitting is the best way to brighten your smile and live a longer, healthier life.
trust me i guarantee it does i study health and yes it does cause your teeth 2 be yellow ,and your eyes to turn red .but its your choice I'm not going 2 but in.
Yes, over time the tar from the smoke will stain your teeth.
Nicotene stains teeth (it also stains other things, like fingers used to hold cigarettes, even if people wash hands often).
Yes. But you can keep things to a minimum by using a whitening toothpaste, mouthwash, frequent brushing and/or brushing with baking soda.

I've found BS helps to prevent stains quite well. I brush with it everyday.
Yep, everything they said, coffee does it also. Just don't dip your fingers in your cup so they don't stain.
Mine were bad for awhile as I was smoking about 2 1/2 packs a day and about 2 thermos's of coffee every day as well.
Now I'm down to 1/2 pack /day and virtually no coffee. I have noticed a difference for the better... and that's with no brushing. heheh. just kiddin on the no brushin part.
