Getting my braces off what should I expect?

Question:
so I'm getting my braces off on august 15!! I'm excited.
But i'm also nervous, what should i expect when they are taking them off? How do they do it? Does it hurt?
Thanks for the answers

Getting them off is probably the best part of the whole ordeal!

After dealing with braces for years, you will probably already be accustomed to the pain. It doesn't hurt too much. At first there will just be a lot of pulling and yanking the stuff off. There is often a lot of pressure, but not really much pain. Then, the rest is just like an intense teeth cleaning. They use a drill thing to scrape off any remaining cement and polish the surface of your teeth.

Afterwards, your teeth will feel so weird and slimy. It also feels weird to smile and eat without the mouthful of metal.

Enjoy and early congrats on the end of your braces!
its uncomfortable, but it doesn't hurt, don't worry.
pretty straight teeth.don't worry, it doesn't hurt
They just yank it out after taking out all the wires. . .it should come off easy but there's usually a couple that are cemented tight onto your tooth so it'll take a little more effort to yank it out. . .it does not hurt at all, I'd rate the pain from 2/10

After the braces come out you'll notice soooo much plaque that you immediately want to go home to brush your teeth; however, you still need them retainers
get ready to see some yellow stains

but it comes off after you brush!
It's painless. I forgot what they do, but it doesn't hurt.. Right after they take them off though, you're teeth will still have some stuff from the glue. (They'll take this off) But your teeth will feel really slimy and gross.
Wow, I bet you can't wait!

Well, first of all you'll be really beautiful. Everyone will say 'Hey, you got your braces off!' Like you didn't notice.

It will feel weird for a while. But it will also feel GOOD. In a couple of weeks or a month you'll forget you ever had them. All the boys will be following you around 'cos it's good luck to kiss a girl who just got her braces off. (Not everyone knows this!)
They basically pry the braces off. It is kind of uncomfortable but is not painful. They also scrape or sand off the extra glue. It's no big deal, really a breeze! They also will give you a retainer which you should definitely wear...your teeth have not planted themselves permanently and you don't want all the braces-time to go to waste! After you get the braces off, your teeth might look really big but that feeling goes away. They also feel sort of slimy for a little bit. Afterwards you will be smiling in every mirror you see...it is WONDERFUL!
no it doesnt hurt but u might have some gunk stuck in ur teeth from a place u were never able to reach like the back of those square things.
i got my braces off a couple of weeks ago

they start by taking off your wires
then they put a tool on each bracket (one at a time) and you hear a snap, and they are off.
when they pull off the rings on the very back molars, that doesn't hurt either.

then the dentist takes like this tooth buffer thing and he sands off the excess glue, he will ask you to wear safety goggles because tooth dust will be flying up.
this will not hurt of you have sensitive teeth, but i have sensitive teeth so it was excruciating. then you will get fitted for a retainer by sticking your teeth into this putty, that doesn't hurt, it actuallly feels cool!

i have to wear my retainer long term but that's ok because it's clear and it's plastic and it has no funky wires

expect your teeth to feel like jello for the first couple of days and if you had puffy gums they will recede eventually
so stick to soft foods at first but after a couple of days you will be back to normal

ps the retainer does feel tight for the 1st 10 days but after that it's all good
Your teeth will feel really slimy, and it will feel kind of funny.
Well my friend had hers off recently and she said its a good feeling and all they do is take the wires off, then the rings around your teeth at the back and then they scrape of the things which are glued to your teeth at the front. At first it feels a bit weird and your mouth is slimey. but its all good and definately doesnt hurt.
After all the pain you have gone through having braces, this will be a breeze.
They do have to basically pull them off your teeth and it is unpleasant, but no biggie.
You will be running your tounge over your teeth and won't believe how smooth they are.
Congratulations!
