Laughing gas is safe as long as it is being monitored. Make sure that someone is in the room with you at all times. Not all people like laughing gas. Most people feel relaxed, but some feel paranoid or a little dizzy. also, make sure that you are put on oxygen for a few minutes before you get up. The gas can mess with your balance and can make some people feel queasy.
As for my personal experience, i found things to be very amusing but i did get a little dizzy and had them keep it on low. What i found most for myself and others, is that after the procedure is done...people dont remember too much about it and thus dont have as much fear of the dentist office.
I used to get it and it was okay, I mean I just felt a little silly and didn't feel shots. But I didn't like the way the rubber felt- a little like a WWI oxygen mask, so I stick out for a little shot now.
Yeah it feels good. If you want to recreated the feeling take a whipcream can, hold it straight up, put your mouth on it, squeeze the top and inhale. Better than Jemken.
Yes I have, and I must agree, I wanted to stay in that nice little chair of theirs for days and days. I almost wanted to ask the Dentist to kick to dose up a bit. Like everything though, nitrogen can be dangerous in very lare doses and for extended periods of time, so for now, just enjoy the moment.
My mom got laughing gas several years ago. She told me that they "accidently" gave her too much and when she mentioned it, they were all "ooh oops". Make sure you take a friend with you to make sure you're doing okay since some docs and nurses can't sometimes.
