Does chewing sugar free whitning gum really whiten ur teeth?
Question:
Answers:
The part that makes it "supposedly" whiten, is the same thing that makes toothpastes "whitening" also. It is because it has tiny particles that scrape (abrade) against your teeth (kind of like sand but much, much smaller) and it "supposedly" gets some of the debris that makes the stain on your teeth come off. But realistically, how effective can these little particles be when your chewing them (you're not spreading them around your teeth). You can get the same effect by eating crunchy foods.
Doubtful. Best way is to not drink coffee, tea, or other colored drinks. Any whitening process you do to your teeth eventually fades, whether the strips, toothpaste, or bleaching(may be expensive but worth it...yet fades). Doubt gum has enough power to whiten teeth?
Nope, no and not. The way they get away with saying that it whitens is that chewing gum can help to clean the teeth and prevent stains. It will not change the intrinsic color of teeth the way bleaching products will.
No. My son did a science fair project on tooth whitener effectiveness. The best over-the -counter product was Rembrandt toothpaste (it tastes gross) though and very effective were the Crest Whitestrips. Many products only remove very little stain or take forever to do so. The Whitestrips work fast but don't overdo. They can hurt enamel or cause sensitivity if you do.
