Really embarassing question for dentists?

Question:
Okay first off, I ask for people not to judge me or my family with this question I am going to ask. You see I have been to the dentists once in my life (I can barely remember it) but I had a filling done on one my back molar.

Anywho as I got older my parents stopped taking me to the dentists and although I brushed 2 times a day my molars were still in pain after a few years. My parents refused to take me to the dentists. My dad knocked my back tooth (the one with the filling) clean out one night.

So at this point I was about 14 with a molar missing and a gap inbetween two molars on the right side of my mouth. As my parents wouldnt take me to the dentist and I was now too ashamed to go I just ate at the other side of my mouth. Now at 15 the same thing happened except my tooth got a cavity and I had to pull it out myself.

Now im 17 and I think my upper molar has a cavity, I have lost 2 adult teeth already. What shall I do? If I went to the dentist would they judge me?

Answers:
dentists are professionals, and they wont judge you on the appearance of your mouth. It actually sounds like, considering your lack of dental care, you have a pretty set of teeth--no care for almost a lifetime and only 2 lost teeth?? Thats incredible! So no, they wont judge, most will be excited to teach you proper dental habits and witness the progress!
Yeah just go tot he dentist Im sure they wont judge if anything they will help you ASAP! Thats what they are there for so dont be ashame and dont put a price on your teeth its something very important you should take care of them no matter the price good luck!

Luv c
No a den. will not judge you he will not know for one how you lost the teeth yes the can fix them and not sure how much it will cost
wellit might be a lil bit scary to go to the dentist but they wouldnt judge they would just ask u a bunch of questions that u might not feel comfortable answering. but they wont be mean and they will understand. and yes they can sow fake teeth where u pulled out the real ones but it might cost a lost.
Good grief! Nobody is going to judge you but they might judge your PARENTS! Go to the dentist and explain things just as you did here. It's quite expensiveto REPLACE teeth - but thay can care for you in many ways.
sooner the better.. go to the dentist explain your situation. if you work they might work out a payment plan for you.
good news is you will get wisdom tooth and those might help. explain the whole thing to the dentist. if you are embarrased and not tell them the full story they might not be able to help you properly.
well, first of all I dont see why your parents wouldn't want to take you to the dentist, but I suggest that you go, no matter how much it costs, your teeth are for the rest of your life.
because you're only 17 you can't make an appointments by yourself, so try talking to your parents again. tell them if they don't send you to the dentist all your teeth will fall out. then when that happens no one will take you to prom and you'll you'll die alone. but before that you'll write a book about them (that well be put on the Opera book list) and how they ruined your life.

you don't have to say it like that, however make it like that. be serious about. if you have to, tell your school nurse or SOMEONE. your teeth aren't jokes.
