Spacers/braces?
Question:
I would greatly appreciate it!!
Answers:
i am not so sure on pain reducers but i can tell u braces hurt the same as spacers or the hurt even more
oral pain relieving mouthwash,
It is a mush worse pain when they take the metal band around your molars off, and when the grind the cement off you teeth
thats so cool, i just got my spacers in less than an hour ago.
they arent hurting me right now :/ but it might later...
spacers hurt more than braces, thats for sure.
and to ease the pain, try taking some asprin, motrin, pain & fever, ect.
and just eat soft things for a while,
do something else to forget about the pain..
eeek! hopefully the pain doesnt come in when im at summer school tomorrow.
hope yah feel better :DD
The spacers are usually a little bit more painful than the braces itself. The pain should not last that long by tomorrow you should start to feel better. We usually tell our patients to take what ever they take for a headache. Good Luck & don't worry you will feel better before you know it!
Yes, braces are much more painful than spacers. What you can do is use some Orajel to numb the areas, also like you said tylenol and advil are good. Make sure you don't have any wires poking you, because your dentist may have to adjust your spacers if that's the case. Your mouth will eventually get used to them, it will take a few days, but you'll be fine.
eating ice cream might help. i use sensodyine toothpaste. it helps get rid of the pain.
good luck
Well, i don't know but, i just got my spacers today, too. Give me five. I got them like 3 hours ago. When i got out of the dentist they hurt me but then, they stopped hurting. Now, after i ate, they hurt a little bit not a big deal. So, wait maybe the pain goes away by its own.
I got spacers two weeks ago.
The next week I got them taken off and got bands.
This week (yesterday) I got my actual braces and one more set of bands.
I had extreme pain from my spacers too.
I was very lethargic and basically stayed in my pajamas all day.
At the moment my braces still do hurt.
But spacers hurt more, just barely, but defenitly more.
I went to a drugstore, like Walgreens and just got some Ora-Jel.
It's very very useful.
There's also Canker-X which I know if for canker sores but what it does
is create a barrier on the sore to help it heal and feel better. It will help if your spacers leave raw spots on the sides of your mouth like mine did.
Just try to be strong and get through it.
After a few days your teeth won't hurt at all.
One tip for the next day or third day...
if only your molars are sore chew your food between your front teeth.
Then you'll be able to eat whatever you want.
I was soo happy. =]
Good Luck!
hahahahahhahahah
duh!!spacers are nothing!
i found it easier to try to eat with my front teeth when i had them for two weeks. you have to chew with your mouth open, its rude, but it works.. dont worry, you will get used to it
