Does a retainer hurt?

i am getting one, and i was just curious to know if it hurts.

It doesent really hurt it might cut your tounge that stings. But when you first get it on it is extremely annoying. Good luck
no it doesn't hurt it just makes your teeth feel well retained lol first few days it'll feel tight then you'll get used to it trust me
Well for me the first few days my mouth was a little sore and its really annoying but you get used to it and you wont even know its there!
The first day it feels uncomfortable and it makes your mouth a little sore- you get the same feeling whenever your dentist tightens it- but it never actually hurts.
