How do you cure the pain after teeth have been extracted?
How does Freddy Kruger wipe his butt?
Answers:
Ice the first 24 hours then moist heat (damp towel heated in the microwave works well) after that along with exercising the jaw muscle and don't forget the warm salt water rinses. Also take Motrin or Advil (an anti inflammatory) to reduce swelling and soreness. Give your self a few days and you will be back to normal. Good luck!
As always, follow any instructions given by your dentist as he knows of any complications that may have occurred during your procedure.
what is the best extra whitening toothpaste out there!?
i would put a ice cube in my mouth for something cold to numb it.
I suggest to leave the gauze on, which will help stop the bleeding. If you don't have gauze, any tea bag will help also. when it come to the pain ice will help, also an ice bag against your cheek on the area that the tooth was extracted will help. If you're a smoker, i suggest you don't smoke for at least 2days. and also don't drink with a straw. These reasons could easily cause a blood clot which will give you more pain than what you're already experiencing. When this happen the only choice you have is to go to your dentist and he/she would have to put medication on area for at least 2-3 days a week for 3 weeks.
what is the best major for someone trying to become a General Dentist?
Hi! For the first 24 hours use ice and pain medication as recommended by your dentist. After that rinse gently 3-4 times a day will warm salty water. Don't be cheap on the salt and rinse for at least 1-2 minutes. This will help promote healing and remove any dried blood or food that gets trapped in the socket. Also this will freshen your breath and make you feel better. I always tell patients to sleep with an extra pillow and to not push or pull anything over 10 pounds for 3-5 days to strain the jaw muscles. Try to eat well, but soft and nourishing foods and NO hot or spicy. Tomato's, pizza and bagels are a No-No for 1 week. Sometimes as the socket heals from the inside out, the hole may feel annoying, but that is the normal way the mouth heals. Be patient and eat lots of cool things and do not chew ice. If you have any other questions, please ask. Marie
