Your tooth is infected and the only way to make your tooth stop hurting is to have the tooth extracted or to have a root canal done to remove the infected nerve. You will need to be put on antibiotics first to clear up the infection because sometimes the infection can cause you not to get numb. You really need to have that taken care of because it is not good to have that kind of infection in your body. Good Luck! I hope that you can get it taken care of soon.
have you tried a Good Samaritan Clinic. They usually help people in need of health or a local dentist office that goes by your income
I went down that road myself and your correct Oragel didn't exactly do the trick but a combination of advil, aspirin or Excedrin in addition to Oragel or Anbesol did.
The pain is caused by the nerve dying and as I understand it an infection can easily develop causing more complications down the road.
You need a root canal and probably a crown. It's expensive yes but worth it. Especially when you get older unless you're into dentures and that may not always be possible. Being toothless is very unattractive.
Meanwhile I suggest you floss in addition to brushing your remaining teeth. Especially the flossing. My cavities occurred between my teeth. Toothpaste, mouthwash and dental floss is much cheaper, less painful and time consuming
Hi! Oral gel is NOT for tooth pain, it for gum pain. You can try using a topical fluoride to help if the tooth has decay. But other then a dentist you may have a bit of a rough time. Try brushing to remove food and plaque. Take a fluoride toothpaste and put it on the tooth and wait for 5 minutes. Repeat. Clove oil is also a great remedy if you can get it. Put a tiny amount on a very small cotton pellet and place it in the tooth where it is has a hole. Wait for 10 minutes. Use warm salt water rinses and do this 3-4 times aday. If you can not afford a dentist, call the local hospitals that have a dental clinc or a local dental school and they will see you. If you have severe pain the ER will treat you and help you find a program to see a dentist. If you have any other questions, please ask, I will try to help you. Marie.
