What do you use to clean your retainer?

Hi! You have two choices. Brush each day or use a a denture dissolving tablet once a week or so. Brush the pink part with your toothbrush and rinse the wires with warm water. Be gentle. That should be fine. If you notice a build up then do this. Drop one denture tablet in a glass of water and wait 2-3 minutes. Put your retainer in the glass for 30 minutes. Rinse well and insert. This will freshen the plastic part of the retainer and keep any food oders from being trapped on it. Also remember to brush well and that includes your tongue for great hygiene and no decay. Good luck, if you have any other questions, please ask. I will help in any way I can. Marie.
tooth brush and tooth paste
You could use like efferdent, or denture cleaner. Put a tablet in and let it soak in water. Thats what I do. =] then rinse it out, also brush it with tooth paste and a tooth brush and when you wake up, or after you take it out, rinse it with water! Congrats about your braces!
I got my braces off almost a year ago, but I'm still wearing a retainer at night.
My orthodontist told me everytime I brush my teeth to take out my retainer and brush my teeth, then brush the retainer, and rinse it with warm water. They also said you should get a denture cleaner, (I use Efferdent) and twice a week soak them in warm water for 30 minutes, with the efferdent tablet.
Soak in water with a dental cleaner tablet in it, like Efferdent.
what a sorry orthodontic office, huh? anyway get ur toothbrush n put paste on it. Hold ur retainer gently in ur other hand and gently srub the retainer (both sides). when you think its enought time spent..rinse the retainer off and put 'em away or back in ur mouth!
My daughter brushes them daily, and then about once a week uses Efferdent.
You can clean your retainer by brushing it with your regular toothpaste, or you can get a little bit of baking soda and brush it with that (you can even mix a little peroxide with the baking soda, and it can help remove staining). It's okay to use your toothbrush you use for brushing, or you can get a different and use it, it's up to you, whatever you're more comfortable with.
