Answers:
ha that reminds me...I went to a dentist and got root canal done and he turned out to be a con artist and while he was doing my root canal, he was begging for me to get braces (I got straight teeth) few weeks later it got infected and there was a big lump with pus in it. It was hurting like crazy so we went to a diff docter. He told us that the other doctor got arrested and went to jail.
You have not specified yr age. Most probably it could be the wisdom tooth erupting. If it is painful you may have to see a dentist.
That is kind of how my wisdom tooth felt and an abscess tooth seems like it would hurt much worse. I just had to have a root canal (not even an abscess) and it was killing me without touching it. But someone should look at wisdom teeth anyway, to make sure they are coming in straight and all. I might get it looked at, if nothing else next time you go to the dentist.
