Is there another way to properly clean your retainers asides from using a toothbrush and toothpaste?

i read this on a orthodontist's website to soak them in a 50/50 mixture of plain white vinegar and water for about 15 minutes. after soaking them, take a toothbrush and gently scrub - any white stuff should easily come off. i've been doing this for a year and it works great every time.
I would soak mine in mouthwash or try saltwater
What if you could clean them with denture cleaner. Try tossing them in the dishwasher too. Put it underneath the silverware so it doesn't fly around.
Don't try this until you ask your orthodontist, because I really have no idea if you can do this, but---
can you put them in the dishwasher?
I soak mine in the yellow listerine mouthwash. Dont soak them in the green minty wash because they stain green. Mine are now green! Another good way is to pop a denture tablet in a glass of water with your retainers, this kills any germs that may be lurking without damaging your plates and it doesnt hurt you either health wise. Or you can just soak them in water. I sometimes do this and then just use toothpaste and brush to clean. Just dont use warm water obviously because this can warp the plates. Hope this helps.
Aquafresh makes these things that you put in water and they fizz up creating this disinfecting stuff. It's made for toothbrushes but my orthodontist told me I could use my retainer in it too. It makes it taste all minty and gets rid of any nasty stuff on it.
Denture tablets like efferdent works terrific and its safe for the appliance and your mouth. Takes off the whitish scale build up.
