How common is it to have no wisdom teeth (without having them extracted, I mean just not having them at all.)?

It is not odd to not have them; I have a friend who does not myself. It is also not rare to only have a certain number and not all of them. Scientists are not sure whether wisdom teeth are genetic or not, so you could or could not pass on that convenient trait.
fairly. not sure if its genetic tho. my sis doesnt have any.. neither did dad, but mum and i had them...
You lucky thing! It isnt as rare as you may think, I am not sure whether it is hereditary or not, did your parents have no wisdome teeth? Be thankful you dont have to go through with the expense and pain of getting them out!
Some people have them, some don't. Good for you!
I don't know how common this is..but I don't have any wisdom teeth either..but my siblings do and so do my children.
Guess I was just lucky.
It could just be a weird genetic quirk. I don't know if it would be passed on, but my guess would be no. In my case, both my parents and brother and sister had 4 wisdom teeth, but I only had 3.
Having no wisdom teeth isn't very common...yet!!
The reason for having 3rd molars (wisdom teeth) was because back in our Neanderthal days we needed the extra teeth to chew the tough, raw meats and vegetation. As humans have evolved, our diet has become more refined, and we no longer need that extra set of molars. This is why most people have to have their wisdom teeth extracted, our jaws have gotten smaller and there isn't enough room. If you were born with no wisdom teeth, consider yourself a member of a "more evolved" generation of the human species!!
