Impaction teeth?

Question:
can one undergo impaction surgery under general anaesthesia on both sides extracting 2teeth on left side and one on right side.can one bear pain after the surgery.eating possible ?bcoz as both the sides has been operated.

Answers:
Under a general anesthesia is the best time to have all of your extractions done at once. "Impacted" means that the teeth you need to have extracted are still under your jawbone, and it will require some bone removal to get to the actual tooth. If you have the general anesthesia you will wake up in no pain...they use local injections inside your mouth after you're asleep, and you'll have a numb mouth for a few hours after surgery. You can eat anything soft and cool, milkshakes, applesauce, yogurt, just no straws. Once you get something in your stomach, start with Advil (ibuprofen) before the numbness wears off. The 2nd day you can eat whatever is comfortable, usually eggs, pasta, soft meats, cooked veggies.
Please don't worry!!
usually dentist dont like to do surgery on both sides for impacted 3rd molars but in the instance they do your usually so drugged up after its done that you sleep for like a day after it then they keep you on a liquid diet for a couple days and soft foods until they take your stitches out or the stitches dissolve.
Um... I don't see why a dentist wouldn't work on both sides. I work in a dental office and we do this quite often. Especially if the patient undergoes general anesthesia, I would think that they would resolve all the problem teeth at once. Anyways, it is pretty routine that they remove all four wisdom teeth and it should not cause a great deal of pain. There will be tenderness and some aching a few days after the procedure. I had my wisdom teeth (all 4) extracted at once under general anesthesia and I was fine the next day. I ate softer foods such as yogurt and banannas for maybe 2 or 3 days and then I was fine. Eating is definately possible, I had a friend go out for a big steak the same day after getting her wisdom teeth out. Shouldn't be a problem
Of course, I have done all 4 wisdom teeth extractions in one appointment. Most surgeons would rather have it that way, and most patients. As far as general anesthesia, it's not necessary unless you have a patient with Down Syndrome or something along those lines. Local anesthesia (the good old needle!) is just fine and faster too. Besides, general anesthesia is expensive.

As far as the pain goes, it differs from patient to patient. But nothing some good old painkillers won't take care of like naproxen or ketorolac if you need something stronger, but your dentist should prescribe you something.

Yes you can eat, but not right away, might be difficult since the anesthesia will still be in effect, and when they numb your bottom 3rd molars, the side that is numbed, that half of the tongue also gets numbed due to the way that nerve is set up. Since it's both sides, your whole tongue will be numb and you might bite it if you try to eat something. So eat before the surgery, if you must eat after, stick with soft foods that don't need much chewing or soups. Don't drink alcohol or smoke for a few days and avoid spicy foods.
