Orthodontic rubber band timeframe?

Question:
Hi, I am 15, I had braces put on 18 months ago, with a timeframe between 12-15 months. I was given orthodontic rubber bands 10 weeks or so ago.

Now the thing is, I have been wearing my rubber bands. Always at night, and I try to wear them most of the day, but after eating and things, I may not be in a position to put new ones in right away so I can have them in 23 hours or whatever time I am not eating during the day. Does the Orthodontist realistically expect me to wear them every second I am not eating or will they still work if I consistently wear them for most of the day, missing a day or two where I have just not been able to get to them. Since I am so far over the treatment date, do you expect at my appointment today I will be advised on when I can get the braces off? Thank you.

Answers:
when u eat, u can remove them but just make sure u bring extras like in a really little zip lock bag. u can remove them when u think that the activity ur gna be doing myt require ur teeth to be free. when u sleep make sure u have them on ok? because the time that u eat isnt really that long so a few minutes without wearing those darn rubber bands is quite ok. btw, it would also be a lot lot better if u wear them while u eat. jst remove them for a while if ur not really comfy. ur braces myt come off soon but its still up to ur dentist if he or she feels that u may have to have those braces on for a little while longer...
